Chicago Warriors Baseball focuses on player development within a competitive structure that plays to win. We develop confident, fundamentally strong baseball players who can compete in any environment. Founded in 2010, by Joe Perona, Chicago Warriors Baseball has experienced leadership and a track record of professional training and player development. Joe is a former Detroit Tigers professional player and Northwestern University graduate, and has over 15 years of experience coaching, training and building competitive youth, high school and college aged baseball teams. Coach Perona is actively involved in designing and training the Warriors Player development program by setting program direction, designing practice and instruction and and training of Warriors' coaches. Chicago Warriors teams follow a rigorous player development training program embedded in a culture of growth and improvement.
In 2023, Chicago Warriors Baseball established our own private, college-level, indoor facility on the northside of Chicago in the Edgewater/Andersonville neighborhood. That same year, the Warriors formed a partnership with North Park University Baseball that allows both programs access to each other's facilities. The Warriors expanded their indoor training space to 10,000 sq/ft with the addition of a connected warehouse space we call The Workshop in April of 2026. The Workshop has 5 additional hitting tunnels and a full weight room. It is the home of a year round hitting club and strength program exclusive to Warrior's players.
Our coaches are not parents of players, who recruit their friends and pick their own teams. We offer paid coaches to lead our teams with a team-first competitive philosophy while teaching players how to hold themselves accountable. Our teams are built and evaluated at the organizational level and formed to seek the appropriate level of competition.
We provide continuity and stability for families tired of constantly searching for a new team. Our teams don't age out as we offer a strong high school level program of ten teams in 2025. The reality is that most travel teams crumble due in-part to dad-coaches, top players leaving, weak training facilities, poor player development, and no high school program.
Chicago Warriors Baseball offers teams beginning at 11U through 17U and finishes with a summer collegiate team. We offer players the opportunity for year-round training allowing players to build strength and skills during the off-season. After players accept an offer, our youth program begins with fall training classes in September and October. Additional training is offered in November and December, and team practices begin in January meeting two to three times a week. Winter training concludes at the end of March with league and tournament play beginning in mid-April.
Most of all, Chicago Warriors Baseball is right-sized; big enough for players to have access to quality coaches, facilities and playing opportunities, while small enough to ensure personal and athletic development.
Most youth travel programs are simply picking winners and losers. We teach the game, build athletes, and develop competitive baseball players.
